CHICAGO - Dr. Elliot Fishman, professor of radiology and radiological science and director of diagnostic imaging and body CT at Johns Hopkins University, talks about social media with AuntMinnie.com Editor-in-Chief Brian Casey at RSNA 2014 and explains why radiologists should get involved.
Fishman believes that social media is a good way to connect radiologists, referring physicians, and patients, as well as provide information and share experiences in a positive way. He notes that many institutions are establishing a social media presence and using it as a way of branding, but he also cautions that radiologists need to be very careful of HIPAA rules.
