Radiology services provider Radisphere has been acquired by AmSurg, an operator of ambulatory surgical centers.
In a January 21 news release, AmSurg said it had completed the acquisition and is folding Radisphere's operations into its Sheridan physician services division. The deal adds Radisphere's more than 100 radiologists to Sheridan's network.
The combination of Radisphere and Sheridan will create a radiology services provider that operates in 25 states and reads more than 3 million imaging studies per year. AmSurg president and CEO Christopher Holden said the company will continue "to evaluate and execute on" opportunities like Radisphere that offer growth for the company.
