AHRQ solicits nominations for new USPSTF members

The U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) is accepting nominations for new members to the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF).

Each year, the director of the AHRQ appoints new members to serve four-year terms and replace panel members who are completing their service. Qualified candidates must demonstrate expertise and national leadership in clinical prevention, the critical evaluation of research, and the implementation of evidence-based recommendations in clinical practice, the AHRQ said.

This year, the agency is actively seeking nominees from the areas of pediatrics, nursing, behavioral health, obstetrics and gynecology, and preventive medicine. Nominations must be received by June 15 to be considered for appointment, with a start date of January 2018, the agency said.
