The American College of Radiology (ACR) Board of Chancellors has named three gold medalists in recognition of their services to the ACR or radiology.
The 2018 winners are as follows:
- Dr. Marilyn Goske, chair emeritus of the Image Gently Alliance and professor/clinical emerita of the department of radiology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine
- Dr. Barry Pressman, former ACR president and chair of the department of radiology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles
- Dr. Donald Resnick, former president of the International Skeletal Society and professor emeritus of the department of radiology at the University of California, San Diego
The ACR will formally present the gold medals at its annual meeting, being held May 19-23 in Washington, DC. In addition, the ACR Board of Chancellors has awarded two honorary fellowships to the following individuals to honor contributions to the science or practice of radiology:
- Dr. Corrado Bibbolino, former chief of the department of radiology and department of clinical services and clinical research at the National Institute for Infectious Diseases in Rome
- Dr. Yasushi Nagata, professor and chair of radiation oncology at Hiroshima University Graduate School of Medical Sciences in Hiroshima, Japan
The ACR said it will also present a distinguished achievement award to Dr. James Morrison of Leesburg, VA. Morrison served as assistant executive director of membership and executive membership at the ACR prior to his retirement in 2013 after nearly 18 years of service.
