A man is in critical condition after having a medical incident in an MRI scanning room, according to a police report filed July 17 by the Nassau County Police Department in Long Island, NY.
The 61-year-old man, who has not been named at this time, entered an MRI scanning room at Nassau Open MRI while wearing a metal chain around his neck, according to the report. This caused the man to be drawn into the MRI machine, resulting in a medical episode.
Medical personnel transported him to a local hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.
The investigation is ongoing, according to the police report.
