An October 11 cyberattack suspended most clinical and diagnostic operations at Akumin’s South Florida imaging center for outpatient radiology and oncology services.
In a service disruption notice released October 19, the company called the event a “ransomware incident” and said it was working closely with business partners and third-party specialists to safely resume business activities.
“We are temporarily unable to see patients at our fixed-site locations,” according to the statement. “We have made progress in restoring certain operations, including all oncology services, since taking our systems offline, and have resumed treating some patients.”
