Three executives from Kodak Health Imaging (now Carestream Health of Rochester, NY) have formed a new company to handle sales and service of a Kodak oncology computed radiography (CR) system.
Onconcepts has gained exclusive worldwide rights from Carestream for sales and service of the Kodak 2000RT system and other related digital oncology products. The system uses CR to acquire portal localization, verification, and simulation images for use in oncology procedures.
The system supports multiple treatment rooms and can be used with virtually any linear accelerator, according to Onconcepts. It acquires 14 x 17-inch images, a larger format than that used for many electronic portal imagers.
Onconcepts is also selling the Kodak Beam QA Package, which enables oncology sites to eliminate dosimetry film and perform quality assurance imaging with the 2000RT system.
Onconcepts was founded by Michelle Donowsky, Robert Jones, and Dan McGee, who were involved in the clinical, development, technical, and support side of Kodak/Carestream's oncology division.
