Equity firm acquires Barrington, Echoserve

A holding company formed by healthcare equity firm Galen Partners has acquired refurbished imaging equipment supplier Barrington Medical Imaging and ultrasound/x-ray equipment firm Echoserve.

The two companies will be merged to form a nationwide independent service provider for medical imaging equipment across multiple modalities and vendor platforms, according to Medical Imaging Holdings of Golden, CO. It will provide field service depot repair, parts and proprietary equipment sales, and sales and installation of refurbished capital equipment.

Barrington and Echoserve will continue to conduct business under their existing names and maintain operations at their current facilities (Cary, IL, and Golden, CO, respectively) during the integration process, Medical Imaging Holdings said. A new name for the combined company is expected to be announced later this year.
