The American Thoracic Society (ATS) is now accepting applications for its Minority Trainee Travel Awards (MTTA) program. MTTA provides travel funds for trainees of minority backgrounds to attend the ATS international conference, taking place May 20-25 in San Diego.
Eligible applicants must be a member of an under-represented minority (African American, Hispanic, Native American, Alaskan Native, or Pacific Islander), as defined by the National Institutes of Health. The applicants must also be enrolled at a U.S. institution, high school through postdoctoral fellow. Finally, the applicant must be a co-author on a scientific abstract that has been accepted for presentation at the 2005 ATS meeting.
The award includes $1,425 and one year of discounted ATS In-Training membership.
MTTA applications are due by February 18, 2005, and are available at www.thoracic.org/mtta.pdf
