Siemens makes $1.5 million donation

Siemens Medical Solutions has pledged $1.5 million to support the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation's Clinical Investigator Award.

The award is granted to five physicians annually, with each receiving a five-year $750,000 grant to help support their salaries and research expenses, according to Malvern, PA-based Siemens. The support protects at least 80% of the physician's time so they can focus on development of new technologies and treatments for cancer. The award also includes payment of up to $100,000 of their outstanding medical school debt.
