The Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) Foundation's Discovery Campaign has received a $50,000 pledge from Sirtex Medical.
The medical device company researches, develops, and markets treatments for liver cancer using small particle technology.
SIR also announced it will provide funding for one medical student conducting preclinical research in interventional radiology during the 2012-2013 school year in the Howard Hughes Medical Institute's medical research fellows program.
