Shimadzu Medical Systems has installed the first Trinias SCORE Opera C12 angiography system in the U.S. at a cardiac catheterization lab in Beaufort, SC.
The system was installed by Shimadzu's dealer partner, CMS Imaging of North Charleston, SC, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. The hospital recently expanded its cath lab and expects to perform approximately 650 heart procedures there each year, the company said.
Trinias SCORE Opera C12 is an advanced ceiling-mounted angiography system with improved image quality that can help improve clinical decision-making while reducing radiation exposure and improving patient comfort, according to a news release.
Among the critical conditions treated in a catheterization lab are heart attacks in which an artery suddenly becomes blocked, leading to loss of blood flow in the heart muscle, Beaufort Memorial officials noted.
