Ohio State University in Columbus, OH, Battelle Memorial Institute in Harford, MD, and Siemens Medical Solutions of Malvern, PA, are scheduled to receive an $8 million award to establish a program for the prevention, detection, and treatment of lung cancer. The award is being given by the Third Frontier Project, an Ohio-based economic-development initiative. The project is expected to create 1,100 new jobs in the state in 10 years, according to Ohio governor Bob Taft.
