Magnetoencephalography (MEG) developer VSM MedTech of Vancouver, B.C., reported that its CTF Systems subsidiary has finalized an agreement to provide a 275-channel MEG system to Westfalische Wilhelms-Universität Münster in Germany.
The university will be using the system to conduct ongoing research into the organization of cortical structures and cortical plasticity, as well as studying potential clinical MEG applications in the fields of stroke recovery, schizophrenia, tinnitus, and music and language development, according to the company. The facility will also carry out multidisciplinary research into the integration of images from the 275-channel MEG system with those from its 3-tesla functional MRI system, VSM MedTech said.
Delivery of the MEG system will occur in the first quarter of 2004, the company said.
