Siemens, UMHS to form technology alliance

Siemens Medical Solutions and the University of Michigan Health System (UMHS) are planning to establish a five-year medical imaging and information technology services alliance for a new $200 million cardiovascular center in Ann Arbor, MI.

The companies will also collaborate to combine multislice CT and digital flat-panel vascular imaging technology.

Siemens technology featured at the cardiovascular center will include its Axiom Artis dFC magnetic navigation system, Axiom Artis dTC and dTA digital ceiling-mounted cardiac and vascular imaging systems, Acuson Sequoia echocardiography systems, Soarian Cardiology information system, and Acuson KinetDx ultrasound image management system, according to the vendor.
