E-Z-EM is moving barium powder production to its manufacturing facility in Montreal. The move, which is expected to take 12 months to complete, is expected to generate pre-tax savings of $2.2 million next year.
The operational realignment is part of E-Z-EM's global production strategy, aimed at creating a more efficient, flexible, and market-driven manufacturing infrastructure, according to the Lake Success, NY-based firm.
The powder is currently being produced at the company's Westbury, NY, manufacturing facility, which will remain in operation after the planned production shift, E-Z-EM spokesman Tom Johnson told AuntMinnie.com.
