Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston is the first U.S. installation site for Tustin, CA-based Toshiba America Medical Systems' Aquilion 64-slice CT system.
Beth Israel, a major teaching affiliate hospital of Harvard Medical School, is one of Toshiba's luminary partners in CT technology, and has been using Aquilion 64 to improve body angiography techniques for preoperative planning of liver and pancreatic transplants.
Toshiba's 64-row Quantum detector enables the Aquilion 64 to acquire 64 simultaneous slices of 0.5 mm with each 400-millisecond gantry revolution.
