The system is a dual-source, dual-detector scanner with a continuous rotating gantry that performs one- to 90-second scans, with high-speed image reconstruction.
TomoScope is used in volumetric, dynamic, contrast-enhanced, and material-specific micro-CT imaging. U.S. Food and Drug Administration clearance is not required for the scanner, which will be available in the U.S. in January 2009. It is already available in the rest of the world.
