Elucid's Lesion Inspection Tool for the company's Plaque-IQ software suite is now commercially available, allowing physicians to analyze plaque composition and burden at the individual lesion level in coronary and carotid vessels.
The tool provides quantitative results for specific vessel segments, including quantification of high-risk plaque features such as lipid-rich necrotic core (LRNC). Plaque-IQ is powered by CT-Virtual Histology technology, which noninvasively quantifies and classifies coronary and carotid plaque components using CT imaging.
Elucid noted that by focusing on lesion-level plaque biology rather than population-based risk estimates, Lesion Inspection Tool is designed to help physicians prioritize and personalize treatment for individual patients.
