The election of a new board of directors at Del Global Technologies, the parent of x-ray manufacturer Del Medical Systems of Valhalla, NY, has been confirmed by an independent inspector, the company said yesterday. Wallace Barnes, Gerald Czarnecki, Suzanne Hopgood, Edgar Smith, Jr., and David Wright are the new directors of the company following a vote at Del’s annual meeting of shareholders last week.
Hopgood, Barnes, Czarnecki, and Wright were nominees proposed by investment firm Steel Partners II and received the highest number of votes from the firm’s shareholders. Smith, a previous board appointment, received the next highest number of votes.
The new board plans on meeting in the next few days to begin the orderly transition of responsibilities and determine various committee memberships, Del said.
