Imaging software developer Viatronix has teamed up with Shimadzu Medical Systems of Kyoto, Japan, to develop a custom 3-D visualization module for Shimadzu's 3-D angiography system, and to market Viatronix products jointly.
The module will enhance the current module's capabilities, enabling radiologists to analyze aneurysms in real time and improving surgical workflow and outcomes, the companies said. The module will be incorporated into Stony Brook, NY-based Viatronix's V3D Explorer application, which provides 2-D and 3-D visualization for several radiologic applications.
In addition, all Shimadzu sales channels in the U.S. and Canada will be selling the Viatronix software, which includes V3D Explorer as well as V3D Colon and V3D Calcium Scoring.
The modular structure of the Viatronix software allows for efficient integration with other firms' imaging products, according to Michael Meissner, director of research and development for Stony Brook, NY-based Viatronix.
