Canadian digital x-ray developer Imaging Dynamics (IDC) has received the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's 510(k) clearance for its Xplorer 1600 digital radiography unit.
Capable of performing chest x-rays and general radiography studies without an overhead structure in the room, Xplorer 1600 includes a U-arm positioning stand, attached x-ray tube, and collimator, as well as an x-ray generator, according to the Calgary, Alberta-based vendor. The unit combines the firm's CCD Xplorer imaging detector with its Magellan II workstation.
