Merit Q3 shows revenue gain

Disposable products provider Merit Medical Systems reported 2004 fiscal third-quarter revenues of $35.5 million, a 3% uptick compared with the $34.5 million booked in the same period last year.

For the quarter (end-September 30) the South Jordan, UT-based firm reported net income of $4.2 million, a slight downturn from the $4.7 million in net income reported for the third quarter of 2003.

Revenues for the nine-month period were $112.1 million, a gain of 11% compared to $100.8 million for the same nine-month period in 2003. Net income for the first three quarters increased 8% to $13.6 million, compared to $12.6 million for 2003. Excluding the gain on sale of land and a positive litigation settlement, net income rose 13% for the period, the company said.
