CMT Medical Technologies

Israel-based CMT will introduce a new line of digital radiography products under the SmartRAD product line. The company will also show its new SmartSPOT PrimaX retrofit module for fluoroscopy and angiography systems.

The SmartRAD systems are based on a Pixium digital detector from flat-panel developer Trixell of Moirans, France, coupled with CMT's DuraRAD-QSL enclosure. CMT offers its SmartRAD technology both as an upgrade to existing analog radiography systems and as a complete line of integrated systems.

SmartRAD Elite is a single-detector upright system for chest applications, while SmartRAD OmniX is a single-detector multipurpose universal-arm system covering all radiographic examinations. SmartRAD GeminiX is a dual-detector system that can handle all radiographic examinations with fast operation and high patient throughput.

In CMT's traditional photospot market, the company is launching SmartSPOT PrimaX, a high-resolution digital photospot and angiography imaging system aimed at the retrofit market. SmartSPOT PrimaX enables existing fluoro or angiography rooms to be converted to digital on a retrofit basis. The system is compatible with any existing fluoro or angio room, and can increase department efficiency by 30%, according to CMT.

SmartSPOT features include a 12-bit CCD camera, programmable anatomical protocols, real-time digital subtraction angiography (DSA) imaging and disk storage, and fluoroscopy and angiography protocols. High-frame-rate acquisition of up to 30 frames per second is possible with PrimaX Turbo mode.

SmartSPOT PrimaX has FDA clearance and the CE Mark. The products will be available in the first quarter of 2005.
