Canon will feature its CXDI-50G DR sensor panel, a compact amorphous silicon flat-panel sensor. The Irvine, CA-based vendor has installed more than 460 CXDI-50G panels worldwide.

The portable system's imaging area is 14 x 17 inches, it weighs about 10 lb, and it is less than 1 inch thick. The panel, which can be installed in portable x-ray units as an upgrade, is targeted at hospitals and imaging centers that have bucky adapters.

The unit has received FDA clearance and has been available worldwide since July 2003. The list price is $125,000, depending on the application and modification kits required.
