Higher sales in its Medical Systems unit helped propel Del Global Technologies of Franklin Park, IL, to higher revenues and net income for the second quarter of 2008.
For the period (end-January 26), the medical division produced sales of $27.2 million, up 14%, led by higher international sales volume for several of the company's products, particularly the Apollo line.
Operating income at the Medical Systems Group increased to $2.7 million from $2.6 million in the same quarter of 2007. However, the group's gross margins declined slightly to 24%, from 24.5% in the second quarter of 2007.
