Bone density developer CompuMed has entered into an agreement with Osteometer MediTech, a subsidiary of OSI Systems, to offer bone density screening in primary care settings, according to the Los Angeles-based company.
The agreement will add Osteometer MediTech’s peripheral dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (pDEXA) bone densitometry systems to the products offered by CompuMed to measure bone mineral density, including CompuMed’s OsteoGram and Digital OsteoGram systems.
Also, in connection with the agreement, CompuMed has launched its OsteoCare initiative, under which primary care physicians and other healthcare providers can join the OsteoCare clinical network and access an integrated suite of osteoporosis screening technologies for point-of-care use, CompuMed said.
