Hitachi releases Echelon upgrade

Hitachi Medical Systems America will be providing customers of its Echelon 1.5-tesla MR scanner with its VASC noncontrast MR angiography sequence and a new fast-spin echo (FSE) capability.

The enhancements, part of software update 1.4C, are available to users at no charge, according to the Twinsburg, OH-based firm. Other features include Hitachi's Natural algorithm, which is designed to balance signal uniformity for multichannel coil imaging. Hitachi said it has also incorporated faster dynamic scan reconstruction.
