Interventional firm Guidant of Indianapolis has launched its Multi-link Penta coronary stent system for the treatment of coronary artery disease in Japan. The system uses the developer’s Access-Link technology, a feature that allows the stent to be flexible enough to be maneuvered through vessels while retaining the strength needed to prop open a blocked artery. The stent also features a delivery system with a balloon that allows it to be more easily delivered to the site of the coronary blockage.
