Cochlear implant gets OK for MR use

MED-EL's Combi 40+ cochlear implant has received Food and Drug Administration approval for use with MRI. The implant system with a fixed internal magnet is safe for patients receiving 0.2-tesla MRI procedures, according to the Durham, NC-based vendor.
