Interventional technology developer Vascular Solutions has received the European CE Mark for its Pronto extraction catheter. Consisting of an extraction catheter with an atraumatic distal tip and large extraction lumen, Pronto can be delivered into arteries to remove soft thrombus, according to the Minneapolis-based firm.
Sales will begin immediately through the firm’s direct sales organization in Germany and through an independent distributor network in other European countries, Vascular Solutions said. The system was developed by Dr. Pedro Silva in Milan, Italy. Silva has exclusively licensed the design to Vascular Solutions.
