Medtronic stent receives FDA OK

Medical device manufacturer Medtronic has received clearance from the Food and Drug Administration for its Driver coronary stent, the Minneapolis-based firm said. The product is a cobalt-based alloy stent and represents Medtronic’s new-generation stent platform, incorporating thinner struts and a lower profile. The Driver stent is immediately available in diameters of 3, 3.5 and 4 mm, and in lengths of 9, 12, 15, 18, 24, and 30 mm, said the company
