Radiation therapy provider Varian Medical Systems has introduced a new applicator for high-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy of cervical and uterine cancer.
The "ring and tandem" applicator is made of titanium and is designed for greater patient comfort, according to the Palo Alto, CA-based vendor.
The applicator is compatible with CT and MR scanners, and is available for use with Varian’s VariSource and GammaMed HDR brachytherapy afterloaders, Varian said.
