Medrad reports 2003 sales growth

Interventional technology provider Medrad of Indianola, PA, reported 2003 revenues of $294 million, representing a 16% increase over its prior-year sales.

The company said that it also increased its headcount by 8%, adding 93 full-time permanent employees. The firm said it plans to add 100 positions in the 2004 fiscal year, with the majority of the jobs (60) at its Pittsburgh facility.

The developer also noted a 60% increase in the production capacity of its syringe assembly and packaging operations, as well as a 40% increase in revenues compared with fiscal 2002 for its multivendor service (MVS) business unit. The MVS group repairs both Medrad and non-Medrad MR coils and ultrasound probes, the company said.
