Group purchasing organization Premier of San Diego has awarded a contract to Medrad for its Stellant Dual CT Injection System.
The decision to give the contract to Medrad was based on product reviews conducted by the organization, which had reviewed Stellant under its "technology breakthroughs" program. The GPO said that Stellant offers advantages over single-injector devices.
Stellant will be made available to Premier's 1,500 member hospitals starting June 1. Medrad, headquartered in Pittsburgh is a subsidiary of German firm Schering.
