Abbott launches Perclose ProGlide

Interventional device developer Abbott Vascular Devices has launched Perclose ProGlide, the next generation of its Perclose suture-mediated vessel-closure system.

The Perclose product line is designed to close femoral artery puncture sites following diagnostic or interventional procedures. ProGlide uses a monofilament suture, which enables the knot to advance more easily into the opening in the artery, according to the company. This enables a single operator to deliver a pre-tied knot to close the access site in the femoral artery following a catheterization procedure.

AVD is a subsidiary of Abbott Laboratories of Abbott Park, IL.
