Interventional technology developer Wilson-Cook Medical has debuted a line of Fusion biliary accessories. The accessories combine traditional endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) techniques with the firm's new Intra-Ductal Exchange (IDE) technology, according to the Winston-Salem, NC-based subsidiary of Cook.
IDE technology allows the device's wire guide to disengage within the ductal system, accommodating device withdrawal and exchange while enabling the operator to maintain control of the wire at all times, Wilson-Cook said.
The company believes that using an ultra-short, 185-cm Fusion wire guide adds to procedural control while offering efficiency gains. Fusion's built-in, long-wire guide lumen permits traditional long-wire exchange, Wilson-Cook said.
