The University of North Carolina (UNC) has named Dr. Maureen Kohi as chair of its department of radiology.
Kohi currently is at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where she is an associate professor of clinical radiology and is chief of interventional radiology. She earned her medical degree from New York Medical College and completed a residency in diagnostic radiology residency at UCSF. She joined the UCSF faculty after completing two fellowships at the program.
Kohi's area of focus is in women's health and interventions, focusing on subjects such as minimally invasive treatment for symptomatic uterine fibroids, treating and managing patients with invasive placenta, and researching gender differences in vascular and oncologic diseases. She will begin her work as chair on December 31.
