Three-dimensional-software developer Actuality Systems has installed its Perspecta Spatial 3-D system at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD. The system, the first Perspecta Spatial 3-D system to be delivered, will be used for research by biomedical investigators from the NIH Clinical Center and the National Cancer Institute.
The researchers will use the system to visualize exact tumor location for radiofrequency tumor ablation in the liver, and to compare tumor location with treatment location during procedures, according to the Burlington, MA-based firm. Actuality said that it also has an additional seven customers for the system.
