Interventional technology provider Medrad has added two infusion modes to its Continuum MR-compatible infusion system. The new software enhancement allows physicians and nurses to program weight-based dose parameters into the Continuum infusion pump, which then automatically calculates and displays the real-time required flow rate of intravenous medication, according to the Indianola, PA-based vendor.
The software also allows for the administration of an automatic bolus of medication, as well as the ability to program flow-rate limits in any infusion mode as an extra safety precaution, Medrad said.
