The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cleared B. Braun Medical's SpaceStation MRI system for delivering medications to patients in the MRI suite via the company's Space infusion pumps.
SpaceStation MRI shields the pumps against 1.5-tesla and 3-tesla magnetic fields, allowing patients to transition to the MRI suite without interrupting medication delivery, the company said. The system holds up to four pumps; a status window allows for tracking of each during imaging, B. Braun said.
