Mirion donates to IAEA’s Rays of Hope initiative

Atlanta-based radiation safety company Mirion is contributing radiotherapy quality assurance (QA) software, equipment, and training to the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) Rays of Hope initiative.

Rays of Hope aims to expand access to cancer diagnosis and treatment in low- and middle-income countries. Mirion subsidiary Sun Nuclear will provide its SunCHECK Machine software, which records and tracks QA data for linear accelerators, along with related hardware for daily, monthly, and annual machine checks, the company said. The donations will support an IAEA Anchor Centre in sub-Saharan Africa, as well as the IAEA's dosimetry laboratory in Austria.

The agreement extends a partnership that Mirion and the IAEA formalized in September 2025, according to Mirion.
