Toshiba of Tustin, CA, will give RSNA attendees a look at Xario and Famio, two new ultrasound systems the company introduced in 2005. Both units have received FDA clearance.
Xario is intended to serve the general, breast, and vascular imaging segments, as well as ob/gyn, intraoperative, cardiology, renal, and interventional radiology applications.
Toshiba is positioning Famio, a grayscale ultrasound system, at the economy end of its product line. Famio offers a 14-inch noninterlaced monitor, two transducer ports, tissue harmonic imaging, and a high-frame-rate function.
Toshiba sees Famio as suitable for general, breast, and small parts imaging, along with ob/gyn and urology. It has a target price of $18,000 to $22,000, depending on configuration.
