(Booth 922) Siemens Healthcare of Malvern, PA, is set to showcase the Acuson S2000 ultrasound system, first launched at the 2007 RSNA show.
S2000 features an ultrahigh-frequency 18L6 HD transducer that incorporates twice the elements into half the spacing, and is designed to improve slice thickness and contrast resolution with image uniformity.
The scanner is intended for hospitals, clinics, and breast imaging centers, and it features knowledge-based workflow, adaptive ergonomics, and applications that are designed to increase diagnostic confidence.
It also includes Siemens' acoustic radiation force imaging (ARFI) technology. In addition, Siemens anticipates that S2000 will be able to accept the company's next generation of silicon transducer technology.
Acuson S2000 has received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and is available worldwide.
Siemens also will introduce Acuson S2000 ABVS (automated breast volume scanner), a mobile, in-suite design for use in breast imaging centers as well as hospitals and clinics. The system is pending 510(k) clearance from the FDA and is expected to be available in January 2009.
