Mammography vendor Fischer Imaging of Denver has received a formal order of investigation and a subpoena from the Securities and Exchange Commission. The SEC is asking Fischer to produce records related to the company’s financial statements for the years 2000, 2001, and the first three quarters of 2002, according to the firm.
Earlier this year Fischer said it would restate its financial results for the periods following an internal investigation into the timing of its revenue recognition practices. The investigation has forced the firm to delay filing its financial results for its most recent fiscal year.
Fischer said it has already provided information to the SEC on a voluntary basis, and it will continue its full cooperation with the SEC investigation.
