The Food and Drug Administration has authorized the American College of Radiology to serve as the official accreditation agency for Fischer Imaging’s SenoScan full-field digital mammography (FFDM) system. Previously, SenoScan users had to file for accreditation directly with the FDA, according to Denver-based Fischer.
Fischer said that ACR registration, effective August 15, will allow for a more streamlined accreditation process, and eliminate the U.S government’s requirement for SenoScan users to also have a separate film-screen mammography unit available.
