Fujifilm Medical Systems USA will highlight its Fuji CR for Mammography (FCR-M) technology and a new workstation that can be used with FCR-M and full-field digital mammography (FFDM) systems, as well as other modalities. Unlike dedicated FFDM diagnostic workstations, the Synapse Multi-modality Breast Imaging Workstation Configuration can be used for any imaging exam, which contributes to improved productivity and workflow, according to Stamford, CT-based Fuji.
The FDA has yet to clear any CR device for mammography use, although the technology is being used internationally: FCR-M has been installed at 1,500 sites outside the U.S. FCR-M's imaging view can be as large as 24 x 30 cm, and it uses Fuji's dual-side technology, which allows for light collection from both sides of the CR imaging plate.
