Voxar scores 3-D patent

Three-dimensional-software developer Voxar has received a U.S. patent (no. 6,658,080) for its active presets technology, which automates the generation of 3-D images.

Used in the Edinburgh, Scotland-based vendor's Voxar 3D software, the active preset algorithms automatically analyze the 3-D volume to produce optimal color and opacity to isolate specific anatomy and pathology, Voxar said.
