R2's Klein resigns, interim CEO named

Computer-aided detection developer R2 Technology has appointed William Mercer as interim president and CEO, succeeding Michael Klein following his resignation late last week.

The Sunnyvale, CA-based vendor said that Klein and R2's board agreed that new leadership was needed to support the firm's next phase as a medical software company.

Mercer has been a member of R2's board of directors for the past three years, and is the former president and CEO of Alaris Medical. He has also held positions at Becton Dickinson, Abbott Laboratories and Mallinckrodt.
