Royal Philips Electronics, parent company of Philips Healthcare of Andover, MA, has released two new fetal-maternal ultrasound monitors, the company reported.
The Avalon FM40 antepartum monitor and Avalon FM50 intrapartum monitor are the company's latest additions to its Avalon line of fetal-maternal products, which includes the Avalon cordless transducer system, as well as the Avalon FM20 and Avalon FM30 fetal-maternal monitors.
The monitors feature an external display with touchscreen capability as an option, in addition to the monitor's built-in touchscreen display. The external display can be mounted across the hospital room or on a cart in the labor and delivery room, allowing clinicians to interact with the monitor even when they are not in the room with the woman.
Both monitors provide monitoring of maternal blood pressure, SpO2, maternal ECG, and maternal heart rate. Both fetal and maternal ECG waves can be displayed on the screen. The monitors integrate with Philips' obstetrical information system, OB TraceVue, as well as other information systems.
